Feeding Guide

Everything you need to know about preparing and feeding BIM formula safely

Safe Preparation Steps

1
Clean & Sterilize

Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Ensure all bottles, teats, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized before use. This is crucial for your baby’s safety.

2
Boil Fresh Water

Fill a kettle with fresh tap water (do not use previously boiled water). Bring to a rolling boil and then allow to cool for no longer than 30 minutes, so that it remains at a temperature of at least 70°C.

3
Add Water First

Pour the correct amount of cooled boiled water (70°C) into a sterilized bottle. Always add water before powder to ensure correct dilution. Refer to the feeding guide for water amounts.

4
Add Powder

Using only the scoop provided in the tin, add the correct number of level scoops of powder to the water. Level off each scoop with a clean, dry knife – do not heap or pack down the powder.

5
Mix Thoroughly

Cap the bottle and shake well until all the powder is completely dissolved. Check there are no lumps remaining.

6
Cool & Test

Cool the bottle quickly by holding under cold running water (ensure water doesn’t touch the teat). Test the temperature by shaking a few drops onto the inside of your wrist – it should feel lukewarm, not hot.
